I personally think that they shouldn't have even made it. I hate when they break tradition.

Well I guess that just sucks for me, bc the "frills" are what I liked about FFX (yes, I'm that shallow). And imo, they still left the story a little open. Many fans wanted to see Yuna get back together with Tidus, as well as have a full on wedding scene (kinda like the FMV in FFX) with them. The fans also wanted to see what their life would be like afterwards. They didn't show that either. Ppl still don't know if he will disappear again or not. But overall, I guess I'm satisfied with the story and the ending. They did what they could.

My beef with the 100% ending is that it left me feeling gipped. Considering how difficult it is to get 100%, they should've either made the 100% ending at least more than a minute, or have it in FMV format. Where's the frills? I guess I'm just spoiled from FFX. I guess I'll just stick to FFX instead then.

I guess the 100% thing seems so difficult to me bc I did it on my first try. So a lot of the game just wasn't enjoyable bc of that (it was mostly just tedious and boring).

One thing though, they were talking about having yet another sequel, FFX-3, which would star Rikku. I heard they decided not to do that, but judging from one scene in the game, you'd think they were still thinking of doing something with FFX-2. They purposely left things open. There's one scene where Rikku complains that she never had her "story." So Yuna tells her she should have her own story, and as she starts to describe how the story would go, the camera mysteriously pans away and there is no audio to be heard. When the camera comes back, Rikku is excited about her new "story" coming up. Anyway, they probably aren't gonna make a FFX-3, but they still could. They left a lot of things out and left a lot of things unanswered.

I think you misunderstand, again, the purpose of the game. Every FF game has had an ambigous ending...and for one reason. They want to leave some of the story to the players imagination. It's a simple concept. I have never heard, or read anything about a FFX-3, and if I did, I wouldn't believe it. They really went out on a limb to put out FFX-2. It's over and done with...be happy, and look to FFXII in the near future.

The reason square made a sequel to ffx isnt really for the fans. Its simple logic why. Its for the MONEY! FFX did very well in profits and Square felt that all those who played ffx would also be willing to buy ffx-2 in which they were hoping to sell the same amount of ffx-2 games as ffx. Of course theres no way it'll equal the same sales but ffx-2 is still doing very well in profit as expected.

Strange...it's true FFX made a big profit...but FFVII made the MOST money for Square out of any game they've ever sold EVER. Yet, it took them a year to release a FFX sequel...and SEVEN YEARS to come out with an FFVII sequel...AND IT'S NOT EVEN A GAME!

****SPOILERS*******

Okay, I just finished FFX2, and I am so angry I feel like killing myself. Square totally screwed up the good ending!!! They made a MAJOR mistake so in the good ending, Wakka has no audio! You're suppossed to be able to hear Wakka saying things but you hear absolutely nothing. The subtitles still come out, but you can't hear him! This just ruins the entire ending. Now the ending doesn't really make sense and just sucks in general.

You're suppossed to hear Wakka, and then they turn, surprised to hear Wakka too. But with this messed up ending, you just see them act surprised and turn around for apparently no reason! UGH! How the hell could they mess up the ending? You mean testers actually watched the ending movie, saw that Wakka had no audio and said it's good to go? WTF!!!

I guess they really did throw this game together for $. I mean, if you're gonna go slack on the quality, at least make sure the ending FMV is glitch free!

Oh and they also made Wakka's hair brown for apparently no reason in that ending FMV. That's so weird, considering his baby's hair in that same FMV is orange, like how Wakkas hair is suppossed to be.

Yeah, I kinda would have liked to see a wedding scene or at least something that kind of addressed their future. FFX-3 and I'd probably give up on FF series altogether.
Yeah, Wakka said 'You two get a room' in subtitles but there was no sound....? What was up with that? And I noticed the hair color thing too.

Your logic is flawed. Have you ever researched the amount of time and money it takes to MAKE a game of that caliber?

There is a reason it took Square so long to finally decide to make a side-story to ff7. That reason was because it wasnt all about profits at the time. They just followed every series like usual with a brand new story. The only reason they made ffx-2 was because they had lost millions and milllions of dollars, on what else? None other than the disappointing movie Spirits Within. That movie basically lead to Square's downfall. In fact they lost soo much money off that movie that they really had no choice but to merge with Enix making Square Enix. So ever since that movie came out Square was desperately looking to make profits. FFX-2 and the new FF7 coming out just happen to be one of their ways at trying to make up for their tremendous loss.

Yes it does take awhile but the profits Square makes from each FF game they release is much, much higher. For FFX square sold 6.6 million copies world wide. FFX-2 has already reached the millions and hasnt even been shipped to europe yet. And although most games take a long time to make ffx-2 didnt. Cuz all the world maps and such were already created in the first game. Thats why it only took Square around a year to finish ffx-2 while it took them 3 years to create FFX. Which is why Square really released this game for profit, and i've also read that from somewhere when one of the creators were being interviewed. The reporter asked him why they decided to break away from FF tradition and make this game. He said, well it was for the fans, and well *laughs* also really for profit.

That's a given, due to the fact that they are a BUSINESS. You also forgot advertising btw, which is in the millions of dollars. Print ads, commercials, billboards...they have it all. Maybe i'm biased beacuse I didn't want them to break from tradition like this, or like FFXI, but whaddya gonna do :/

If you could give a link to that interview, that'd be neat. Sounds interesting. I don't know why, it's not like it's a surprise that they do this mainly for the $, I guess I wouldn't expect them to admit it. Fans my ass. To them, fans = $ It ain't about the love, baby!

But that's your rating bar. You're popularity is at '-2'. That means you've pissed off enough people to have about 10-20 of them rate you down.

One thing that kind of annoyed me was if you go to Luca and rewatch any movies, you can't stop them. If you purchase the ending with the New Game Plus you can't stop it, and it even forces you to go through all the credits... And the song is really sloppy, its '1000 no Kotoba' that focuses on being theatrical rather than sounding nice. I just turn the volume down.
And what really gets me is Yuna said 'It all started when I saw this sphere of you.' like five times in the whole game. Three times through out the game, and in both endings. She should have only said it twice or three times at most. But the phrase just lost its value as she repeated it again... and again... unneccesarily. Anyone agree with me here?
