Holy crap. I want a nice case.

Michael: Jodie, how's my schedule look for today?
Jodie: You've got a conference and dinner party at the Japanese Embassy regarding wildlife protection.
Michael: Oh, yeah...sorry, but I'll have to cancel that. I'm heading out to save America!

Thanks for the comments guys!

It still has a lot to be done, I want to compete in PDX lan 07 with it. I still need to get a matching fan for the other side, get blue cold cathodes to shine out through the frosted windows, and make a light bar in the front. I may start a progress thread once I get my parts together.

Basically, this started out as a red X-Qpack case, then I painted the top window, painted the front panel, and painted the tops of the side windows, while frosting out the bottoms. Then, I cut a hole for the LED fan you see there. Inside, I have very good airflow, my friends think its the best wiring they have seen in any case, including bigger ones.

My next step is to relocate the reset button and status LED's under the power switch, then cut out a hole across where the front jacks and LEDs used to be, then put in a piece of frosted lexan. That way, light will shine out the front, as a power indicator. I will also get rid of the power LED at this point.

I just hope I don't ruin it. And, I also need to get some better hardware running inside this thing.

It's pretty badass. The custom work pays off. I can appreciate the fact that you do it yourself.

I like the small case. That's got enough room for a PCIe card if you win that contest?

Those little cases are really nice for mATX boards, I hate the included PSU's though, the PSU in the one I have went bad pretty quick and it wasn't the most stable on it's rails either.

Heck, there's enough room to put a 8800GTX in one of those if you wanted to, only problem is finding a PSU small enough with enough power to push the video card......Wink

Oh yeah, this thing is huge on the inside. I have a PCIe slot, which I am really hoping to fill by the end of the month. As for a power supply, I modded the case to fit a standard power supply, the front bulges out a little, but am okay with that. I also modded it to accept a Scythe Samurai Z cooler, as the stock case prohibits the use of anything larger than a stock cooler.

I also just installed my front window today. I cut out where the LEDs and front ports were, relocated the only important LED (HDD indicator) under the power switch, and removed the reset and power lights. Now I have a small frosted window where the strip once was, with a nice blue glow emanating from it.

I still need to put some modeling putty on it and sand it down, then paint it so it flows with the rest of the case.

The case would be a lot nicer if you could fit a full ATX board inside........Wink But for a nATX case, I think it's one of the best..............Smile

I agree, and yes, it would be VERY cool if you could fit a fullsize ATX board inside of it. I am contemplating scratch building an ATX case that is flat, like office computers.

I have seen some wicked cool mods to this case as well, but most of them vary so far from the original source, that they could hardly be called XQ pack cases any longer.
