Terrible movie. Waste of $10.

Story was garbage. Spoiler may happen below this post... GO!

Completely disagree.

The story was the reason Watchmen did so well during midnight showings and on opening day. The film itself was so thick with literary elements that you could cut it with a knife.

All casting was done extremely well, save for maybe Ozy.

Better than The Dark Knight. Probably the best use of $10 I've had in a while.

I completely disagree.

There wasn't enough hashing out of the characters. The story was way too short for everything to turn out the way it did. You didn't get the feeling that the movie took place over a longer period of time...

Even the original writer said a movie would be too short of a time to tell the story and I agree after watching it.

The Dark Knight was much better, in my opinion.

Plus, The Comedian was the best character and he actually had a load of back story.

Which characters weren't hashed out enough? Coming from an avid fan of the graphic novel I felt that I learned as much as I needed to about each of the characters. I think adding any more "back story" would have made the movie drag and that's something that's best avoided especially for a movie that's already nearly three hours long.

Actually I think the length of time in which the story took place was extremely well done by the director. The Bob Dylan sequence was incredible. Really the score of the movie itself was very well done, but the Bob Dylan sequence was an amazing adaptive nuance in the movie. Add that to the constant flash backs which were all faithful to the graphic novel and you get the idea that this story spans a couple of generations. Very well done.

Alan Moore is crazy. If he had it his way, none of his graphic novels would be movies and we would lose things such as V for Vendetta, From Hell, etc.

Also, I don't think transitioning Watchmen to the big screen is as much of a feat as transitioning something like Lord of the Rings. I think the challenge of getting everything into the movie that was needed to enjoy the story in it's entirety is something that the director rose to meet.

Truthfully, I think this movie was much more faithful and well done than any of the other graphic novel to movie transitions that are done in his name.

It's worth nothing that the Director's Cut of the movie is going to be five hours long with a two hour feature dedicated to the pirate comic melded into the movie in the sequence that it was done in the graphic novel.

I never read the comics... so I felt a bit let down at how Dr. Manhattan was handled.
