Space games suck!

Why do all the current space games suck? The best space sim was Freespace 2 BY FAR.

What are your thoughts on it?

I'd like to see a decent space sim come out for one of the consoles. Online play could make for some sweet space battles. I think one of my all times faves was Star Raiders for the Atari 5200. It had incredible depth of gameplay for its era (comepare with games like centipede, galaxian, and super breakout). Too bad the system broke after about 6 months.

I hate to overhype things but X3 looks promising. I liked X2, but it could have been so much more. There wasn't enough of a variety of weapons and ships and outfits.

X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter was my fave> i used to OWN that! I play the gamcube sw games too, buy they can get pretty hard.

I think there aren't many good space games because there 12 people who buy those games, and that's counting Aron and myself.
