Sure, it came out way back in April and the DVD a few months ago, but I wasn't HERE then, and inquiring Artie's want to know - what did y'all think about the movie based on the best game series of all time*?

Personally, having closely followed the production for three years, it was probably impossible to hate it XD The plot could've been world's better (I really wish they'd followed the plot of Silent Hill 2, like originall planned) but the visuals and camera work were really awesome. Seriously, best I've seen in ages. And the music was all from the games so it was like a little game for me (and probably other fans) to see if I could name all the songs as they came on.

*Based on my opinion, of course

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

That's one of the movies on our Halloween film list along with Resident Evil (before we send the kids to bed), Session 9, and Saw.

I loved the soundtrack, and the movie managed to scare me a few times. I liked it, though I never played the game. It makes me want to, though.

Ending left me more than a little confused.

Silent Hill the movie was good. It could've used more monsters and action to balance out the dialog and exploration, but it's still the best video game to movie translation I've seen.

I thought the game was spooky and teh movie follows suit. Its good to see they threw in some game related stuff like like the "fog" and the "cliffs" were the the road ends and teh "ringing" bell. It was a good game-to-movie conversion.

And the snow/ash. I still find it amazing that they made it ash and realized that whole reference there.

The ringing bell is a siren, by the way.

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

The music was pretty cool, but for some scenes it seemed ill-suited.

I liked it well enough, but I did not find it scary.

The camera shots and music were amazing, it made the movie FEEL like a game. That was very cool.

Unfortunately, I have not played the games (I hate Survival Horror games), so the storyline was a bit hard to follow, but from what I DID understand, it was quite good.

Its not who a person is in the inside, but what he does that defines him.

If you played the games you would notice the similarities as mentioned in the above posts.
