I have to say, I liked it 4 years ago when it was called Hot Pursuit II. Then there wasn't a piss poor attempt at breaking into the street racing scene and I could be the cop. And drive real cars.

Michael: Jodie, how's my schedule look for today?
Jodie: You've got a conference and dinner party at the Japanese Embassy regarding wildlife protection.
Michael: Oh, yeah...sorry, but I'll have to cancel that. I'm heading out to save America!

I must say that NFS:MW wouldn't be the game it is without the street racing. Actually, without racing, it would be a lot nearer to crap.
If what you are saying is that there's nothing really new in the game, I must agree pretty much.
I have never played Hot Pursuit 2 ; I am not a hardcore gamer and do not play many games (though what I get into a game I play a lot) and to me, Most Wanted is is the sequel to Underground 2 maybe with a less deep racing expierience but with an addition that I have only seen in that form in Midtown Madness 2 (implementation crap) and in a comparable quality in GTA (not restricted to cars, so it's just defferent)

edit about the "real cars" : I am no car fanatic. I am a computer geek who happens to enjoy recing games

Real cars, realistic racing: GT or PGR
Fake cars, Street Racing: NFS series.

Fact of the matter is that noone is going to top GT for realism, NFS knew this and decided to go in a different direction. Of course, not many auto makers want their cars to be in a game which encourages players to break the law, so we don't see actual cars in there. They don't even want visible damage on their cars (most of the time, rally racing titles is one exception) so that's why you see cars in GT taking insane hits and coming away with nary a scratch.

I was just saying that Hot Puruit II did the same thing 4 years ago, was more polished and allowed you to drive cars yo would actually want to drive. I'm sorry, but the Chevrolet Cobalt does not top my list of cars that would make me go ecstatic, and niether does any spoilered up rice-boy Honda Civic. Most Wanted doesn't even feel like a NFS game. At least the first Underground managed that. In addition, wheres the ability to be the cop? The NFS games have had that in 1998. Why not now?
