Shrek the Third

OK.. surely someone here saw Shrek the Third this past weekend. How was it? Did it live up to hype? I am still on the fence about seeing it so wanted to get opinions from someone who has actually seen it (vs. just reading critic reviews)

I've heard from a friend that it was OK. Just not as good as the others.

My kids went to see it with their grandparents this weekend. They liked it but neither of them have raved about it like the first two.

We are going next weekend to see this movie. I loved the first two Shreks. I am looking forward to seeing this one. I have heard it is pretty good actually for a thrid sequel.

Thanks for the reviews so far!! I wonder if they will stop now that the thired is complete. I am sure it is enjoyable, just not as "state of the art" as when the first Shrek came out. The first Shrek was truly mesmerizing since we'd never seen anything like it.
There definitely is something to "too much of a good thing"!

I've heard that the CGI and computer animation this time around is amazing, but that the story is meh. I still want to see it though. Maybe I'll see a matinee so I won't have to pay full price.

I think the only one I ever saw in the theaters was the second one...I don't ever really watch kids movies in the theaters, or any movie really. Gee...last time I went to see a movie in the theater was 300, I guess.

I didn't think the previous Shreks were all that great, perhaps because I saw them at home instead of in the theater.

We've planned all along to wait until this comes out on DVD. I still haven't seen the second one, so I surely wasn't heading to the theaters to see the Third!
