Wii remote

Quick question. How far do those wii remotes work from. I'm thinking about getting a wii. Can I still play with the remote from outside my house if I have the wii all the way on the second floor, inside my house?

The remote uses IR and Bluetooth. If you don't have a line of sight, it won't function correctly.

The question is, why would you use it not in front of the TV?

Theres actually a video somewhere that shows the range of the Wii remote.. it works for a couple hundred feet. But like Aron said.. if your not directly infront of the senor bar.. it will not function properly.

It's works as well as you'll play at whatever distance you are. It won't work if you're all the way outside and it's inside, but then you wouldn't be able to play without being able to see the TV either.

It seems to me, though, that it works further from the console than the average wired remote tethered to the system would, so you'll have all the distance you'd need.

I think that the nunchuck should have been wirelessly separated from the wiimote, so you could get more wild motions.
