I am, definitely. If it's controversial, it's usually good.

Plus I was gonna see it anyway before the whole "bad depiction of Jews" thing.

Christians.

But seriously, I would rather take an acid bath in concentrated sulphuric than watch a movie that's tailored to cash in on peoples' stupidity.

Razz It's because you're atheist! YOU'RE GOING TO HELL!
Just kidding, if there is a Hell, and if you're going there, that's also where I'm headed. As well as...6 billion other people.

I already know the story of Jesus, I've seen, maybe six different interpretations. The best one was "The Last Temptation of Christ", which was so good it got banned by the Catholic church. Anyway, there hasn't been a Jesus movie for like, a decade, so I'd like to see how they're going to pull it off Huge Grin

This one is going to be more "obscene" than The Last Temptation of Christ.
Of course, what they did to Jesus was obscene.
However it's been said that the brutality of this movie reaches to the brink of "pornography".
I seriously doubt it though.

Anyways.
Even if you don't believe in Jesus, then I would still reccomend you see this movie.
If only because you could say it was a "good work of fiction" as I'm sure this movie is going to be good.

Hehe. Misery loves company. Which means it's not actually misery.

If they do it accurately, Jesus will be naked, that bullshit 'Shroud of Turin' cloth thing will not happen.... and that's it. There isn't much evidence to go on. Or rather, not much _reliable_ evidence to on.

My mother is a flaming Catholic and won't let me see it. Eventually, however, I plan on seeing it. I don't think it'd be worth spending nine dollars on to see at the theatre though.

Yeah, I didn't understand that little toga thing. If they were trying to humiliate him, then he'd have been naked.
My mom was saying how every actor who has played Jesus gets 'cursed' because their acting career goes down the crapper (it's not like you're going to be able to top the role of Jesus anyway). Maybe there's some higher force at work that doesn't want us fucking around with what happend in the Bible.

Actually, scratch that. Most of the Bible is bullshit anyway.

Every actor who plays the role of Jesus is killing their career trough the very act of doing so, seeing as the directors or such films are normally inept and/or on crack. Has anyone seen "The Robe"? Even though it wasn't centered on the crucifixion, it was still fucking awful.

If I were a casting director, I sure as hell wouldn't hire someone who played Jesus. Unless I wanted to be fired.
No, I haven't seen The Robe, but I did see this one short film about Jesus.

It was quite possibly the worst religious film EVER. Throughout the movie (however short it was), it would tell you not to preach, and that you didn't have to go the Church to worship God (two statements SPECIFICALLY stated in the Bible, yet Christian religions ignore it). Here's the kicker, at the end of the movie, they had this announcer-guy saying the following:

"If you love Jesus, come to Church every Sunday to worship him among your brothers. Get your family and friends to come along with you. If they don't, then condemn them to HELL!"

Okay, I made the last sentence up, but I think you know wha

That's one reason. The other is that it's a very, very brutal movie. The other is that she believes it somehow defiles what Jesus did.

Personally, I'm sticking with the theory that he was a con artist. Oh yeah. I had a debate in class the other day about this. And gay marriages, and marriage in general, the existential question, and abortion. Needless to say, I don't think I'll be debating very soon since my brain and anger managing skills have reached their absolute limit.

Yes, I do agree. I was balling my eyes out the whole movie, and I pity those of you who won't see it. I've seen plenty of evidence that the Bible -IS-, in fact, true. Every day science proves more and more how real the Bible is. Trust me, I've seen too many attacks on people from Satan to not believe. I have all of you in my prayers and hope that one day I'll see you all in Heaven. God bless.

*sigh* Okay, well, for instance we'll start with how they found pieces of wood from Noah's Ark, and then how they found the salt pillar of........that.......one guy's wife........^^;;; Can't remember their names.....Anywho. And Evolutionism, there's more proof now than when Darwin first created the theory of Evolution that evolution -CANNOT HAPPEN-! And it is common knowledge among paleontologists that changing like that is clearly not possible. And the one that gets me most is how a whole "ape-man" was "discovered" by only a tooth..........A TOOTH!!! And the supposed "pelvis bone" to the "ape-man" was found around 50 yards away from the tooth. Another thing that really gets to me about how dinosaurs evolved into birds is how could they have evolved into birds when birds lived -AT THE SAME TIME AS THE DINOSAURS-?!?!?! Anywho, I could rant on about this subject forever, but I won't do that. And the signs of the last days on Earth are already beggining to appear as we speak. Such as the terrorism; different alliances between countries; deception and secrets between countries; and I can already sense the rising of the Anti-Christ. And if you want to see real proof of God, I suggest that you go to Camp Moriah this summer in Cuba, Missouri. The Junior camp has been dealing with a lot of demons the past few years, so you can see deliverances there, and the Senior camp.........how can I describe this............? Let's just say that you can sense God's presence. Visions of Angels drawing crosses on the walls of the church...and breast cancer being healed right before your eyes........it's hard not to believe that there is a God after you have witnessed these things.........and the rewards are great.........

Heh, Anti-Christ. Funny stuff. Luckily, I'm sure I'll be long dead before the alleged Apocalypse.

I don't believe in evolutionism either. It always confused me. "If we evolved from apes, then why are there still apes?!" Same with the the Dinosaurs>>Bird thing, but a little different. But then again, that doesn't mean we were magically created by some big man in the sky. I also believe the Earth wasn't created in seven(six?) days by that same guy...who then took a break and never came back.

As for the pieces of wood from Noah's Ark...how can they prove it was from Noah's Ark?

I have better things to do with my summer than go to a camp with a bunch of people whose religion I don't even agree with. But could you give an example? Breast Cancer being healed before your very eyes? Well, how come every breast cancer patient doesn't go there? There'd be a hell of a lot less sadness in the world. And those visions of the angels...that's pot.

Then again, I don't want to jump the gun. Maybe all these discoveries of the "Ark" and the "disproving of evolutionism" is just everything being revealed to us so we all finally understand that the Bible is all true and we'll all finally understand the meaning of life...THEN God will unveil the apocalypse. Everyone will die. Except the Christians.

Doubtful.

Well for the evolution thing, I would have to say, Darwin (or someone else) said that it took millions of years to make the world, while in the bible it says it was made in 7 days. Well i wonder, How long is seven days to god? Seven days to him could be like 10 million years. So we shouldnt get rid of both issues.

By analyzing the tooth from the "ape-man" they would be able to know what species it was derived from, and also an approximate timeline for its life.

Terrorism, aliances between countries, deception and the like has been going on for centuries, it just seems more publicized now because the means of transporting information is greater.

The Anti-Christ? Psh. Mr. Pika's the friggin' Anti-Christ as far as I'm concerned...

God's presence you say? I could sense God's presence when I went 'shroomin'! Hell yeah! I'm saved!

Personally, I'm not sure what to believe anymore. But I am sure of one thing. No matter what, you cannot say it is right to use fear tactics as a means of converting others or keeping others involved in a religion. That's just wrong by any standard.

If you ever try to think back, to before time was time, and how the world was created if nothign existed..but then something HAD to exist, but when did it start to exist....you head will eventually explode...same goes for the concept of God. You say God always existed but where is the beginning of existance? How was God existant if something created God? This is your mentality on the creation of Earth, it seems. You don't believe it could exist without some higher being, but you never consider where that higher being came from...

Ever stop to consider that maybe they're both right? Maybe a God DID create the world, then let the creatures on it evolve? Oh, wait, you can't, because you're so fucking big headed and think that humans are the best there is , so we MUST HAVE been created in Gods image, because the only think better than a human is God itself, eh!?

=P Rage...must not indulge the rage...

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?
