And for those who may wonder, I'm neither a Republican, nor a Democrat. I'm not even a US citizen.

I still say this whole notion of glabal warming is pure poppy cock! When you have people post such as the gentleman above, it reminds me that yes, we actually do need to be reminded what causes global warming. There are still people who don't get that every piece of science we can get to support what is going on, is paramount. To continue to educate the masses.

The problem with this whole thing is both sides have extremists which ruin their credibility. I don't know wether it is real or not. That's why its a theory. The science behind it makes sense but not everything in real life is logical. Not to mention that the earth has natural cycle's of warming and cooling. That and the atmospheric data they have collected only reliably dates back a couple hundred years. Not nearly enough to even start to fathom something like global climate change. The way I see it, it may not be real but cutting emissions and not polluting is a good thing. If global warming doesn't kill us the rate of pollution will certainly.

Climate change is more than a mere theory, it's a fact that's been monitored for quite a while now. The only reliable satellite data is only a couple of decades old, though, and most of the rest is simply extrapolation from the older data. What is sad is that people are bickering about the causes for this change. Is it man-made, or is it a simple natural cycle? In any case, some are mostly using this for their political campaigns...

But as we all know, becoming a pirate is the best way to stop global warming: Global temperature has increased as the number of pirates has decreased in the last 200 years.

The link is indeed said to have been confirmed in the article. If you read the original paper (I don't remember in which journal it was published), it will give you even more details. I appreciate your critical mind, though. That's what science is about.
