Are these new episodes or direct to DVD releases?

Fox really screws up shows that people like.

These episodes, plus a few Fox produced*, will air on Comedy Central after they show all the old ones. They won't start showing the old ones until Cartoon Network's contract runs out. David or Matt wasn't as fair to their long-term supporter as Seth was, so, we won't get to see the new ones, or any for that matter, on [as] thereafter. New shows are already in the making at Rough Draft; the movies going direct to DVD are a seperate project. Odd note: Fox never formally cancelled "Futurama."

*plus a few Fox produced: This is iffy information regarding rumours as to how Fox just let "Futurama" die -- it is theorised that as many as 13 episodes were in the works in some way or another when the budget artificially ran out. Based on production runs, if they were writing the 13th, Rough Draft would have been doing cleaning on the 4th. When Rough Draft lost their biggest account, "Futurama," a noticeably sized portion of their staff was cut.

If you watch all the episodes in a row, you'll notice that the writing was done in such a way so that all the episodes would be canon and consistant (with some exceptions to lines in the pilot).

This contrasts Family Guy, where the meeting of Louis and Peter has been told in at least 3 ways (perhaps more, I'm not as familiar with Family Guy lore).
