Before I took a vote on peoples opinons on what is the best First Person Shooters, with everyone giving me 5 each, I narrowed it down to the top five and now everyone votes for which is the [Best-Worst]

Halo is over-rated. I went with Half-Life.

halo isn't the best of the best but its sure ain't overrated... well number one wasn't

They both are. They are paraded about in magazines and in message boards as the be all end all of FPS's, when in reality they are no where's near as good as PC FPS's (case in point, when Halo came out for the PC it was a far better game, but it was still panned by everyone), and it didn't really do anything for the console FPS scene either. You are right in saying that the second is more (better than Half Life 2? My ass it is G4.) over-rated than the first, but their are still idiots (and professional game reviewers alike) that parade the game around as the first good FPS ever for the console, when in reality it had already been eclipsed by few games before it was even out (most notably the PS2/DC port of Half Life and Red Faction in the single player arena, and Perfect Dark/Goldeneye in the multiplayer one). The only series more over-rated than the Halo series is the Post-VII Final Fantasy games.

I played them... I thought, ehh.

A keyboard and mouse combo is better.

I agree that it was Goldeneye that started the multiplayer on a console for me.

That being said, I'm about to play Halo 2 now.

ok i think that i can (and we all can) agree that goldeneye is probably the best fps CONSOUL of all time, reason that not ONLY was it on an N64 instead of an xbox with online options etc etc, it was a game that you could come to your freinds house and play with a bunch of people. A advanced game for a simplistic consoul is the way I see it and i think that is just amazing. The game was ahead of its time (in gameplay). It set some standards for most fps's. Red faction is just plain fun
