Devious Your fav FF game and why? Old Sun Jan 2, 2005 3:38:56 AM #10694 Perm Link
Ok let me start off by saying MY fav FF game right now is i gotta say FF8.I don't think i can find any other game in the FF series that is better then FF8(FF9 and 10 came pretty close).I think the main reason it's my fav is because thats the first ff game i had played and it got me started off in the series(even though i know that it's not a good reason but bare with me).The graphics was nice, the gameplay, and exspecially the story plot to it and the characters(zell and irvin was hella funny). The love plot between rinoa and squall? It was aight,i'm not really a sentimental type of dude but the love scenes just made the game last longer.

Now the only down sides to the game that keeps me scratchin my head is......why when u level up the monsters level up with you? That i just don't understand at all.The junction system was nice, but every time you use one of your spells you have equipped your stats goes down....and the draw system was a nice twist to it but after all the drawing for so long the battles get SO tedious. And i know to the majority group of ff players thinks ff7(which currently one of my older siblings is playing right now) is the BEST.I've never played ff7 but hopefully one day i'll like to see why it's at the top of the mountain compared to all the other games.

P.S. i hope some off yall respond to this and don't have me type all this shit....

I love ff10 because it was the first one I played and loved the charaters in it. Also they were able to make a sequel from it.

I have played nearly all of the FF games, and I would have to say that the most fun I had playing a FF game had to be FF VI (FF III in the US). I know that it had wretched graphics compared to what has been out since (at the time, the graphics were some of the best seen on the SNES), but no game in the FF series with the exception of FFVII has come even close to getting the character progression, development, and interaction as well as FF VI did. Also, the story elements and twists in the plot, as well as the extreme depth that the game had, especially in a cartridge-based format, is exceptional. FF VI also boasts the best music of any FF game that I ahve ever played, and that is even taking into account the cheesy sounds that the SNES created when compared to some of the more rich soundtracks currently available on next-gen consoles.

I do admit that FF VII is a very close second in my list of best FF games, and I loved all of them, but in my opinion FF VI is the absolute best-of-the-best. For those of you who haven't played it, I suggest finding a decent emulator for SNES and try to find an english version of the game, it is still completely enjoyable today, even with its dated graphics. Not that I would promote emulation software, that is PIRACY!!!! :-o ;-)

Yeah, FF VI is also my fav. There was tons of character development and the music fit the game pretty well. The skills of each character were pretty useful and the level-up bonuses that the Espers gave each character were quite helpful. Probably the reason I like it the most, though, is that it didn't start Square's "spikey-haired depressant hero with massive sword" theme Thumbs down . Playing FF8-10 with a bunch of Cloud Strife clones as heroes wasn't exactly fun(though 9 rocked)

Yea i agree with you both FF VI was a solid game as well. The character developments, music, and story plot was nice also.Only thing that made it boring was training all them damn characters you have.

I'm still currently playing FF X,i have to say the side quests on this game has to be one of the HARDEST throughout the ff series.

The SNES FF and FF7 on PS1 were great, and FFX on ps2 was awesome.

FFX2 was the gayest piece of shit EVER, however...

My favorite FF game would be FF9. It was the first FF I ever played, and meh, I just liked it. Then probably 7.

People with courage and character always seem sinister to the rest.

my favorite? Tactics. VII doesnt come near it to me, I loved how hard it was, the freedom of your characters, and just the way it was tons harder to level your chars. I love challenges Razz

on a lighter note: Tactics Advanced can suck my balls!

I have to agree, Tactics was the best. My close second was FF III. That game...was so much fun. I love the SNES.

On Tactics Advance, my only issues were:
Worst story ever
and
Judges/Laws sucked.

my fav. FF game had to be FF7, it changed the way gaming was made when it came out in Sept. 27, 1997)(i think sept, but i know it was 1997, still have old mags. with the advertisments.)( i liked FF tactics also. it was very different and once you learned how to play it. it was a alright game. plsu you could unlock Cloud from FF7 in this game also.
i didnt find ff8 all to fun, do to the whole stealing your magic from oppsents and changing the summon names to GF. it just didnt seem right. but then again, the graphic were much better then FF7, but i believe FF7 had a better plot then any game system i have seen.
FF 10 i didnt get very far in, i only rented it, but i liked it.
as for FFx2. its like a charles angles game for FF. i was competely in uproar from how bad the plot was and how childish it had acted. it went from serious RPG to a little girls barble killing people game.

FF7 first of all
FFX second
FFIII third

I was so in love with Tidus I didn't care how lame FFX-2 was, I just wanted to see his face again. I think that's why it sucked so bad. They wanted us to suffer through that god awful music and having to watch Yuna's sissy run before we could see Tidus's face again. I hated that fucking Story Completion % crap. I beat the game twice and discovered I missed .2%. That is when I threw the game and the platystation out the window....... seriously.

FF7 was my favourite because it had the best materia system, and an awesome storyline. Also, at the time that it came it out the graphics and cinematics were great.

I'd have to say my favorite was FFX. The graphics were sweet, expected as it was the first FF game on ps2. I also liked the system they had for getting stronger, though it confused the hell outta me when i first played it. The largest reason why I enjoyed it so much more than the others is that its the only one that's managed to catch my attention long enough for me to finish it. I even took a year long break at one point when I couldn't beat this one boss, but in the end I saw the game through. Now with FF7 i got near the end of the first disc, FF8 i got to the 2nd or 3rd disc, and FF9 i just started the second disc. It pisses me off that I got that far and never continued but i guess my short attention span dragged me away. Not exactly sure why FFX kept me playing, but it did so I hold it as my favorite.

First: Final Fantasy Tactics
Second: Final Fantasy VII
Third: Final Fantasy X

I love Final Fantasy Tactics because it was the first one I played. I loved the battle system, and I could be entertained for hours and hours with that game. I think I'll go play it again...

And Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced did suck. And yet I played, and mastered it.

My favorite is FF6 (3 in the US). It had a non-linear 2nd half, memorable characters, lots of character customizability and plenty of sidequests. Next favorite would be FF4 (2 in the US), pretty linear but long quest, interesting characters and many "worlds" to explore. I also like FF9, which was lengthy and had you going all over the world to find treasures for that one mini-game.

My least favorite is FFX-2. It just seemed like an expansion pack to FFX, many of the same areas were used over again.

I would have to say FF5 because it was so complex..
Let me give an example. It wasn't the LONGEST of all of them but you could combo their proffesions like I had a Red Mage that could cast 2x (two times) and mastered black and white mage skills so that i could cast Holy and Flare in the same turn with one use of mana. Thats my ex of complex. FF8 was fun because there was so many things to keep you occupied except when you fucked up... your REALLY fucked up lol so yeah there ya go.

1.ff5(anthology)-great job system, story line, not to mention gameplay
2.ff7-Great materia system King
3.ff8-Great junction system, good side quests, summon development
Why does everyone like ff10 so much it wasn't that good. Too short
As well as ff9, way too short. Plus ff10 (sequel) sucked horse shit.
the only reason you like ff10 so much is because
thats the only game you've played?
Play the 3 i suggested

FF5 probably would've been 1 of my favorites if it wasn't for the jobs you had to master, and all the money you had to collect.I mean the monsters you be fighting don't be giving you no kind of cheese and the supplies you be needing be high as a 2 story house.
