<B>Introduction : </B>
When Aron sent me the e-mail from LIUtilities asking if we wanted to check out the latest in their product line, I jumped on it. Although I have some problems with three of the settings, I am pleased with the overall operation of the program. My biggest regret with this program is why I didn't have it over the last several years. Oh, this is version one, no wonder.
<B>System Overview :</B>

After going through the normal loading routine for the software, I began to setup the program by clicking on each 'blue link' item on the Overview page. Each item took care of one aspect of the program's setup parameters. As most computers today have large capacity hard drives and plenty of RAM, it was just a simple click and choose the default settings.

<B>CPU :</B>

One thing I really like it to be able to monitor how much my CPU is being utilized. A little icon appears in the SysTray that give a real time measurement of the CPU, RAM, and Net Usage. While you are able to set parameters to assign resources, I should never have that problem with 512MB of RAM. So I choose not to set any of these settings under the CPU options, except for the Prioritize for System Functions option.

<B>Memory :</B>

My first real test, after setting all the default parameters, was to see how well the Memory options worked. To the left is a photo of the Memory options page just after I started then stopped several applications. Notice the increase in both Physical and Page File memory usage.

The photos below show from left to right: Free RAM, Deep RAM Recovery, and the resulting total RAM recovery. You can clearly see the change in RAM recovered (132MB, nice) without rebooting the PC. Notice in the background that the Page File never changes. This is probably due to the system not needing to access this area to free up the physical RAM.

<B>Internet :</B>

My biggest regret was not having this program on the last several years. Just this past January I got cable modem service and I am now in the high speed Internet lane. Prior to that I was on the dirt road beside the Internet, getting 24k connect rates and downloads speeds of less than 3kps. Well, onward and upward with dirt plumes from my speed tracks.

<B>Startup :</B>

This option really got me going. As you can see from the clip on the left I cut my bootup time by almost 20 seconds. Just a few simple clicks to get the optimized loading with reboots between each Optimization and away go the seconds. (Yes, this does take a few reboots and time, but well worth it over the long-haul.)

<B>Anti-Crash :</B>

Since I run WindowsXP Pro, I really don't have to worry about this option. I have had several instances in XP lately when the system would have crashed under any other OS, but XP caught it and I sent Microsoft my error report. No answer yet on any of these errors, so I have no way of actually knowing what happened. All I know is that the error occured while trying to burn some files onto a CD after having played a game of Age of Mythology.

<B>Conclusion : </B>
I only encounter one problem with the program. Whenever I open SpeedUpMyPC the first time after a bootup, the System Overview page displays three 'blue link' items indicating I need to set these parameters. It happens on three different computers I try the program on, so I know it is not in my program setup. LIUtilities also indicates they will correct that problem in the next update/upgrade of the program.
So, if you are constantly running low on resources or just like to keep an eye on your PC, get this program. Don't worry that you are not an operating system expert, as the simplicity of the setup and automatic program operation provides a guru for you. Get this program and you will not regret it.
